Thoughts about camping

After presenting our ideas and "spaces", we have decided to concentrate on Camping as our space. We started thinking about the unique characteristic of camping as a space , and about activities that are special for camping , such as cooking in nature, making coffee, playing music, watching stars and telling stories. We thought about children sitting around the fire and telling scary stories, and about empowering this activity with technology. We wanted to come up with a way to make the storytelling at camping more engaging. Our idea was to arouse other senses, besides hearing, while telling the story. We thought about a device that can identify the tone of voice and react respectively with lights and movement, so that if the person who is telling the story shouts the lights will be stronger and vise versa.

When we presented our idea in class, we realized we are having problem to find a valid nees our idea is solving. That made us think again about our camping space, focousing on needs and things that can be improved. Evventually we came to realize that camping is a social activity, tha alloes people to stay away from the daily problems and connect to each other and with nature. The whole perpose of camping is spendindg time together and saty away from technology, becoming one with nature. That thiught amde us abandon the "Camping space" and rethinking about a way to enhance communication in shared space, this time- with a foucos on needs and priblems we want to solve...
